2018 Programme

Wednesday 17th January
Deborah Wilding, who teaches at the Royal School of Needlework in Bristol, will give us a class on blackwork.

Tuesday 13th February
This is a day to go into your stash and bring along any items which you would like to swap or sell. If you prefer just come along to stitch and natter.

Wednesday 7th March
Print and Stitch with Chris Gray. This is a day with a difference. Printing a fabric in the morning and embellishing it in the afternoon.

Tuesday 10th April
Canvas Work with Sue Hawkins. Using a small kit (cost £5) you will be able to make a small pretty biscornu to use as a scissor keeper or key fob. It involves canvas stitches and a small Dorset button.

Wednesday 16th May
Sea Horses in raised embroidery – a welcome return of Beppi Berlin. This will involve a relaxed session stitching with perle threads on calico.

Tuesday 12th June
Lynne Quinn will explain the patchwork colourwash technique which involves blending small squares of patterned fabric which could be used to make a wall hanging or a bag. Requirements will be minimal as the Guild already has the fabric. Bondaweb will be used to join the pieces.

Tuesday 14th August
Sue Wakefield will give a class on the Japanese traditional technique of “sashiko”.

Thursday 30th August - Saturday 1 September

Wednesday 12th September
Workshop with a cream tea.

Tuesday 16th October
Goldwork/silk shading with Clare Clensy who trained at the Royal School of Needlework. Try your hand at embroidering her beautiful paisley design.

Workshop and AGM

Tuesday 20th November
Mixed media artist Debby Bird will give us a class on Silk Stitch special effects.

Wednesday 5th December
Workshop/Ploughman's Lunch
Jan Hassard will talk about "Colour & Illusion"
